The key MeinFinanzverwalter features

Features work together. Availability depends on your licence: the basic version provides a starting point; advanced modules require an appropriate licence.

Import bank files

Read CSV, CAMT, MT940, OFX/QFX and QIF files. Reuse import profiles for repeated imports without a direct connection to your bank.

Work through transactions faster

Categories, rules, split positions, projects and cost centres bring structure to expenses. F5, F9 and F10 support creating, editing and saving.

Keep refunds traceable

Link payments and refunds even when the sender or receipt date differs. Assigned shares are reflected in the relevant reports.

Find receipts when you need them

Attach receipt files to transactions and process incoming documents. Local PDF text extraction suggests search details; image OCR optionally uses a separate Tesseract installation.

Budgets, contracts and planning

Track monthly budgets and savings goals, manage contracts and record planned transactions. Review detected recurring payments to support planning.

Analyse and print

Compare income, expenses and balances. Use annual and prior-year reports, category trends, partner and budget reports, saved views and print previews for lists and charts.

Vehicles and fuel costs

Assign fuel purchases, litres and odometer readings to a vehicle. Record cash fuel purchases without a transaction and track consumption and fuel prices over time.

Multiple users with personal sign-in

Manage several people in one installation, with individual sign-in credentials and user-specific financial records. Administrators manage users and permissions; available features depend on each person’s licence.

Single PC or server operation

Work on one PC with an embedded database, or use a local Firebird server or a server on your network. Multiple workstations can connect to the configured database server without requiring a cloud service.

Assess and improve data quality

A quality report brings together issues such as missing categories, balance discrepancies, possible duplicates and incorrect splits. Severity levels and recommended actions help you assess data quality and address problems. Export supported lists to CSV or Excel and reports to PDF.

Cash is part of the picture, too

Your personal household cash ledger

Create a cash account for your wallet or household cash and record income and cash purchases manually. Categories, splits and attached receipts make everyday spending easier to follow.

Quick cash entry supports expenses and income, categories, reusable templates and “Save and next”. A withdrawal assistant checks for existing matching cash transactions before creating and linking a new transfer after your confirmation.

Compare the expected balance with counted cash, optionally using a euro denomination calculator. Counts are saved in a history; an adjustment transaction requires explicit confirmation. Negative-balance warnings also consider cash transactions entered retrospectively.

Link withdrawals as transfers between your bank and cash accounts. The purchase is the expense, not the movement of money from the ATM to your wallet.

Quick keyboard controls: F5 creates a transaction, F9 starts editing and F10 saves. Double-click to view details; Esc closes them and asks what to do with unsaved changes.

Intended for personal financial tracking. MeinFinanzverwalter is not offered as a business cash book for statutory tax recordkeeping.

Reports you can trace

From the annual total to the original transaction

A report should explain more than a final total. Annual and partner reports provide detail positions and a path back to the transaction. Monthly budgets, carry-overs, annual figures and details share the same calculation basis.

Print previews for lists and charts show what will appear on paper. Account, period and other context keep reports understandable.

Good to know

Are my financial records uploaded to a cloud?

Records are stored locally or on your configured database server. A cloud is not required. Optional online features such as licence checking or exchange-rate retrieval may use an internet connection.

Does MeinFinanzverwalter connect directly to my bank?

No. Export transactions from your bank, then import the file into MeinFinanzverwalter. Supported formats include CSV, CAMT, MT940, OFX/QFX and QIF.

How do licences and updates work?

Personal licences, multi-person packages and company licences are available on request. Usage rights and update entitlement are separate: a purchased version covered by the update period remains usable. Applicable terms are provided with the licence offer.

How do I get the current version?

Use the availability and licensing page or get in touch. This website revision does not yet link a public MeinFinanzverwalter installer.

PayPal, receipts and checked backups

Import PayPal CSV files into a payment-service account. Browse receipt files using the enlarged preview; normal and enlarged views retain separate zoom settings while the receipt screen is open. Fuel entries can be recorded without an odometer reading.

Backups include a trial restore, database validation, logs and a ZIP checksum. Available space is estimated before backup. Keep an additional external copy and back up external receipt files separately.
